Ask on WhatsAppHow often should I check the air pressure in my tyres?
Check the air pressure in your tyres weekly, when the tyres are cold.
Is it dangerous to drive on under-inflated tyres?
Yes. Your vehicle is held up by the air chamber inside the tyres, and under-inflation is the most common cause of tyre damage. In severe cases an under-inflated tyre can burst and cause a serious accident.
How do I know if I have the correct tyres on my car?
Check the tyre placard on your vehicle, usually in the glove box, on the driver's door pillar or under the bonnet. It shows the correct size, speed rating and load capacity, and the recommended inflation pressures.
Can I mix tyres on my car?
No. Radial and cross-ply tyres handle differently and mixing them can be dangerous. Mixing different sizes or aspect ratios is also unsafe.
Does hard braking shorten tyre life?
Yes. Tyres wear quickly when they are regularly subjected to hard braking or rapid acceleration. A smoother driving style gets the most life out of your tyres.
Is it unsafe to drive with less than 1.6mm of tread?
Yes. Below 1.6mm of tread a tyre may be unsafe in wet conditions and should be replaced.
Why should my tyres be fitted by a Minty's specialist?
Poorly fitted tyres can cause vibration, premature failure, poor handling and rapid tread wear.
What causes heel and toe wear?
In many cases heel and toe wear comes from a lack of maintenance, mismatched inflation or driving habits.
Can I use a sealant to repair a puncture?
Sealants are only a temporary emergency measure. Have the tyre inspected by a professional afterwards, and note that sealants may void the tyre's warranty.
Why does my quote show other tyres too?
Every quote shows the tyre you chose plus budget, mid-range and premium options in the same size, so you can compare prices and switch with one tap. Your branch confirms stock before fitment.
